ADMO LEONESSA PREVALE IN AMICHEVOLE SULL'ARIX VIADANA

Domenica 26 marzo 06’.

Amichevole dai buoni contenuti tecnici ed agonistici quella disputata tra le under 19 di Admo Leonessa ed Arix Viadana.

Squadra solida e ben organizzata quella mantovana, messa però spesso in difficoltà dalla difesa avanzante dei bresciani capaci di improvvisi e rapidi capovolgimenti di fronte.

Il risultato è rimasto incerto fino allo scadere quando, con una meta corale finalizzata dai tre quarti, ha prevalso Leonessa per 25-22.

Alcune importanti assenze dall’una e dall’altra parte (per Leonessa il nazionale under 19 Borboni e gli under 18 Baroni e Bergamo, mentre per l’Arix i nazionali under 19 Duca e Sciamanna) non hanno influito sul gioco espresso dalle squadre in campo che si è mantenuto su buoni livelli.

ORA ADMO LEONESSA E' ATTESA AD UN PRONTO RISCATTO CONTRO IL LECCO VALSASSINA, NELLA PARTITA DI RITORNO CHE SI DISPUTERA'
DOMENICA 2 APRILE ALLE 16 AL "GIULIO E SILVIO PAGANI" DI ROVATO.

AMICHEVOLE CON CALVISANO

Sabato 1° aprile, alle 16:00 al Centro Geremia, la under 19 incontra in partita amichevole il Calvisano.

I bresciani hanno dominato il girone A del Campionato, e sono già matematicamente ammessi alla fase finale.

Problemi grossi invece per Battistin, che dovrà fare a meno di Innocenti, Dal Corso e Zampiron (in Dubai per i mondiali), Billot e Saccardo (impegnati nel topten a Mestre), Viel, Strullato, Arzilli, Zulian e Lena (infortunati), e con Mainardi e Redi in forse. E quindi “largo ai giovani”, ai quali si offre una grande opportunità di mettersi nuovamente in buona evidenza.

Under 19, Med Italia passa di misura ad Alessandria ed è secondo dietro al Cus Torino:

Vittoria di misura per il Med Italia Pro Recco Under 19 nella 18° giornata del Girone ligure-piemontese del Gruppo 2.
I giovani biancocelesti hanno superato in trasferta il DLF Alessandria per 0-7 e adesso sono secondi in classifica con 60 punti dietro al Cus Torino.

Under 19 molto interessante:

Vercelli è una società "neo-nata", Ivrea non ha squadra senior, Spezia e Savona??? Se questi ragazz non si perderanno per strada, tra un 2/3 anni vi sarà una crescita nel rugby piemontese e ligure, la cosa importante è non lasciar decadere quanto conquistato col lavoro e che non restino casi isolati.

Si è ripetuta la partita tra la nostra U19 e la Bassa Bresciana a causa dell'invalidazione per errori arbitrali del 19/03/2006. Il risultato anche questa volta ha premiato la nostra squadra: 46 - 10.

UNDER 19: Admo Leonessa-Lecco 19-8 ma non basta

Peccato, ma bravi lo stesso per quanto mostrato nell’arco della stagione!

Non è riuscita all’under 19 della Leonessa l’impresa del passaggio del turno.

La squadra si ferma proprio nella finale regionale.

Dopo aver compromesso la qualificazione all’andata, subendo sul campo del Lecco Valsassina un pesante 48-18, la squadra tenta il tutto per tutto sul terreno amico del “Giulio e Silvio Pagani” di Rovato, ma gli sforzi non le consentono di andare oltre una più che meritata vittoria per 19-8.

Il risultato, frutto di una partita disputata costantemente all’attacco, condanna Admo Leonessa che forse manca di lucidità e convinzione ogni qualvolta si tratti di finalizzare la gran mole di gioco svolto.

Alla fine si contano parecchie occasioni mancate per un soffio: grande cuore in campo e grande rammarico negli spogliatoi.

In serata si festeggia lo stesso ed i ragazzi ne hanno buona ragione per l’ottima stagione disputata.

RUGBY. DOPPIA VITTORIA PER UNDER 17 E UNDER 19

Nel fine settimana in cui la prima squadra coglie un successo fondamentale contro il Sannio, nel campionato di serie A, arrivano nel complesso buone notizie anche dal settore giovanile del Cus Padova rugby.
Per un’under 15 che perde in casa contro i Lions Mogliano 12-15, sono da registrare le vittorie di under 17 e under 19. I primi espugnano il campo del Bassano (10-21, con una meta a testa per Pavan, Coin e Decina e tre trasformazioni di quest’ultimo), i secondi vincono al Piovego il derby con Valsugana (15-12).

Tutte e tre le partite erano valide per i rispettivi campionati nazionali di categoria, seconda fase, zona Veneto.

La U19 si guadagna il rispetto inglese ...

Un pareggio per 5 a 5 nella partita amichevole che ha opposto i nostri ragazzi dell'under 19 contro i pari età dei Fullerians, squadra londinese gemellata ai Saracens, in una partita veramente molto combattuta nella quale i nostri hanno pareggiato, con veramente una buona prova, anche nel terzo tempo.

Colts 31 Hemel Hempstead 0 (Windsor Cup)

On Friday (7/4) evening, Fullers' Colts entertained a touring U19 Academy side from Italian club San Marco (Venice), and in a match played at a frenetic pace, secured a 5 v 5 draw in a game that could easily have gone either way right up until the final whistle. Fullers started well, and had the better of the early exchanges, pressing their visitors back into their 22 by slick handling and pace across the 3/4 line aided by solid forward play. The opening score went to the home team when tight head prop Ryan Shipperley powered his way over from close range after wing, Seb Jowers, capitalised on a penalty award by taking a quick tap, feeding the ball infield from a tight angle, from where an inside pass put Shipperley away. Unfortunately the try went unconverted, and as the game drew on, the San Marco players gained confidence, and then territorial and possession advantage, particularly in the latter stages of the second half where only dogged Fullerian defence held them off. Eventually 'the dam' burst, and a good break from the Italian outside centre saw them level with a well worked try.

Colts Coach Phil Judge - "This was a great game, played at quick pace, and with both creative invention in attack and tenacious defence being seen from both sides. The draw was a fair result, but leaves some unfinished business as we drew 7 v 7 against San Marco in Venice, back in February in another cracking match."

Recovering from their exertions against the Italians, on Sunday (9/4) the Colts were again in action, this time playing local neighbours Hemel Hempstead (Camelot) RFC, for The Chris Windsor Memorial Cup - a challenge established last season following the untimely death of the then Fullers club secretary, former youth chairman and Watford 'round-tabler' Chris Windsor. A 'ceremonial' kick off by Chris' son Rhys started the match before a large and enthusiastic crowd of supporters of both sides, and thrilling rugby union followed, with the home side determined to retain the trophy, and Hemel throwing all they could at Fullers to take it a few miles North.

Fullerians opened the scoring on just 7 minutes with a well worked team move from between their opponents 10 and 22 metre lines - scrum half Matt Peel broke around the fringe and set his 3/4 line away where outside half Max Cole fed full back Luke Rogers, coming into the line in a set play that saw the ball pass through all of the remaining backs hands to allow wing Tom Matthews score in the corner. The try went unconverted, but it wasn't to prove costly as just 7 minutes later Fullers crossed the line again - a further scrum saw Peel feed Cole and then captain Tom Judge who passed to powerful centre Phil Gregory and as the latter drove forward, Judge looped around to receive a return pass that he kicked ahead, just outside of the Hemel 22 and chased. Three players went in search of the ball, two defenders and Judge, but the ball luckily sat up in the latter's favour, was easily collected and run over the line for the try that Gregory then converted. At 12 v 0 down and with just 15 minutes gone, one could have expected the visiting side to drop their heads, but they rallied, and came back at Fullers, using set plays from both rucks and mauls to good effect, and a well drilled rolling maul in particular, to force their way into the home sides half. A great break down the Hemel right almost saw a try, only for their winger t be forced into touch 'in goal' as he tried to ground the ball. Fullers responded well, and a game that moved from end to end, with both sides showing the best that rugby has to offer, then began to thrill the crowd as half time approached.

Entering the last sends of the first half, centre Judge broke free again, again kicked ahead and chased, collected the ball and went over directly under the posts to set up a relatively straightforward conversion for Chris Geary who had by then replaced Gregory. 19 v 0 at half time, but a far closer game in terms of possession and territorial advantage. Fullers made a number of changes at half time, trying to ensure that all of their squad members were able to play in a game that meant so much to their club. Hemel may have seen this as a sign that the home side believed the match to be over, and came at their opponents from the restart, tenaciously using their forwards to good effect to first cross into the home half and then pressure their line, but it was to be to no avail - just three minutes in and Oliver Fountain, fed from a ball secured at the lineout by Cole, used pace and power to good effect to burst through the opposition's defensive line and cross for a further try, this time unconverted. A mere two minutes later, and he was across again, Cole and Geary combining well in midfield, Geary running a dummy line allowing Cole to feed a short pass to Fountain who went over under the posts for a try that he then converted himself to take the score to 31 v 0.

Both sides then locked horns for the remainder of the game, and although they went close, Fullers' defence held firm and Hemel were denied a score that they more than deserved, the final tally not giving a true reflection of the match or the quality of their play, however this was Fullers day, and lifting the cup immediately post match, the Fullers Captain thanked Hemel for their support of the event who saw not only the cup being played for, but the Colts having organised a fund raising raffle that provided £685 for The Wooden Spoon Society, a charity providing financial aid to children and young people who may be socially, physically or mentally disadvantaged - the chosen charity of The RFU and a favourite of Chris Windsor.

Il Savona ha una stretta, e proficua, collaborazione con l'Imperia Rugby oramai da qualche anno.
L'Under è composta infatti anche da alcuni nostri ragazzi.
Così come la U.17 che gioca sotto il nome di Imperia è fatta anche da ragazzi di Savona.
Speriamo che quanto prima qualcuno di loro salga in prima squadra per dare un po' di ossigeno a noi vecchietti....
